Laban E. Hershey, 71, retired farmer, died in a hospital in Lake Wales, Fla., Thursday afternoon at 3:30 from a series of heart attacks.
Mr. Hershey suffered a heart attack Monday and was taken to the hospital. The second occurred on Thursday and caused his death.
The deceased had been spending winters in Florida. His home was on Fayetteville R.1, near Caledonia. He formerly had farmed along the Lincoln Highway, west of here, along Marsh Creek.
He was a native of Adams County and a son of the late Abram and Hosie (Eyster) Hershey.
He was a member of Flohr’s Lutheran Church and of the Cashtown Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Cover Hershey, New Oxford; and these children, Donald H., Cashtown; Kermit, Westminster, Md., and Mrs. John Sadtler, Falls Church, Va. There are five grandchildren.
Two sisters and a brother also survive. They are Mrs. Hermie Zobler, Gettysburg; Samuel, of Greensburg, and Mrs. Charles Mumma, La Verna, Calif.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Bender Funeral Home but are incomplete.
