Mary Susan Elmore Daniel, daughter of James William Elmore, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Pritchett, was born on 25 December 1816. Mary Susan married Moses Pryor Daniel, (born 4 July 1817, died 20 March 1875) in Brunswick County, Virginia on 19 December 1838. Mary and Moses lived their lives on the old farm north of Danieltown. Moses Pryor Daniel was the son of Peter Daniel and Martha Elizabeth Parker.
Children of this union were as follows:
1) Mary Elizabeth Daniel was born about 1839 in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia. Mary married Pvt. Joseph H. Daniel, a Confederate soldier, (born about 1832, died 16 December 1864, killed while defending Petersburg).
2) Cpl. James Pryor Daniel Sr., a Confederate soldier, was born on 30 April 1841 in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia. James married Catherine P. "Katie" Farris (born about 1850, died 21 June 1883) on 3 October 1865. He next married Ella C. Jones (born 1864, died 6 June 1991) on 29 April 1890. James died on 24 February 1925.
3) Cpl. John Eddie Daniel, a Confederate soldier, was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia in September 1843. John married Henrietta S. "Etta" Pritchett (born 1846, died January 1879) on 29 May 1867. He died on 4 July 1916.
4) Susan Louisa Daniel was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia on 20 February 1847. Susan married Pvt. David Pritchett, a Confederate soldier (born 8 October 1844, died 23 January 1922). Susan died 14 July 1933.
5) Virginia Ann "Jennie" Daniel was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia in 1848. Virginia married Pvt. Lewis Woodbury "Levi" Abernathy, a Confederate soldier (born 2 December 1842, died 3 October 1866).
6) Moses Rufus Daniel was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia in September 1851. Moses Rufus married Mary Susan "Pink" Vaughan (born July 1851, died 22 April 1909) on 15 February 1871. Moses died in Dec. 1910.
7) George Sidney Daniel was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia on 21 March 1853. George married Ellen Elizabeth "Ella" Vaughan (born 1 January 1858, died 8 January 1932) on 27 March 1876. George died 20 November 1917.
8) Peter Henry Daniel was born in Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia on 2 Sept. 1855. Peter married Sarah Ann Farris (born March 1860, died 14 March 1927) on 16 January 1878. Peter died 2 May 1925.
Upon Moses' death the farm was divided among his sons. Pryor gave George Sidney the farm west of Danieltown. The farm, in back of New Hope Christian Church, went to John Eddie. Henry received a farm near the junction of the Blackstone Road and the road that goes by Rocky Run Methodist Church. Moses Rufus lived with his mother, Mary Susan for the rest of her life and she left him the "old" place.
Mary Susan died on 16 January 1897 in Brunswick County, Virginia and was buried in the Pryor Daniel Family Cemetery, north of Danieltown, Brunswick County, Virginia.
