IRVING, TX - Barney Preston Davis, age 72, a resident of Irving for all of his adult life, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at home. He was born September 19, 1937 in Utica, Mississippi to Robert Preston Davis and Marie Broadwater Davis. Barney was retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He loved playing pool and dominoes, fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rochelle Davis of Irving; sons, Barney Lee Davis of Arlington, Tod Davis and wife Rita of Grand Prairie, Michael Davis and wife Jill of Granbury; daughter Lisa Elliott and husband Michael of Oklahoma; step-sons, Justin Williams and Dustin Williams, both of Teague; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild; brothers, Craig Davis of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Evan Davis of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving. Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer society of one's choice.
