MRS. AMANDA DeCOURSEY DEAD

End Came Today at Home of Her Son Here--Funeral Services This Afternoon

Mrs. Amanda M. DeCoursey, 67 years of age, and mother of Charles DeCoursey of this place, died at 6:25 o'clock yesterday evening at the son's home in the north part of town. Her death was caused by dropsy. She had been sick for some time, and suffered intensely toward the end.

She was born May 19, 1850 in Johnson County, Indiana. In 1868 [sic] she married Louis DeCoursey, to whom five children were born, three sons and two daughters, which are Dillard, who died in infancy, John of Puyallup, Wash., Mrs. Joseph Dromey of Madera, Calif., Mrs. Ollie Hoisington of Cadda, Colo., and Charles of Edina, who was the only one home at the time of her death.

Mrs. DeCoursey united with the Christian Church in 1866, of which we lived faithful until her death.

She is also survived by a sister and two brothers. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Christian Church at Millport by Rev. H. E. Keltner.

Amanda Melissa DeCoursey, nee Hill, died at the home of her son, C. J., in Edina Wednesday evening, August 29, at 6:25, from dropsy and heart trouble.

She was born May 19, 1850, in Johnson County, Ind. She was married to Lewis DeCoursey in 1868 [sic]. Shortly afterward Mr. and Mrs. DeCoursey moved to Missouri where the home was made. To the home came five children, Dillard, who died in infancy; John L. of Puyallup, Wash.; Mrs. Joe Dromey of Medera, Calif.; Chas. J. of Edina; Mrs. Allie Hoisington of Caddoa, Col. Beside she leaves two brothers, C. W. Hill of Rutledge, D. H. Hill of Gorin and one sister, Mrs. James Efine of Oklahoma.

Mrs. DeCoursey united with the Christian church in 1866 and in which she lived faithful member until death.

Funeral services were held at Millport Thursday afternoon when a large number of friends and relatives did honor to her memory.
