I. D. HARMON SERVICES HELD MAY 5TH

Funeral service for Mr. L. D. Harmon was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev. Harold Watson, pastor, officiating.

Interment was in Verden Cemeter with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Donald Brown, Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. C. W. Hamill and Mrs. J. N. Kern. Mrs. Ed Nelson was pianist, Songs rendered were "Asleep In Jesus," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Beyond the
Sunset."

Casket bearers were Art McVey, Babe Pullen, Ed Adkisson, Lee Fowler, Earl Ball and E. E. Hinkle.

Isum Derrell Harmon, Uncle Dee as he was affectionately called, was born April 7, 1874 in Cook County, Texas and passed away at his home in Verden on May 24, 1956, at the age of 82 years, one month and 17 days.

He was united in marriage to Ida Taylor at Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1900, and to this union eight children were born, five boys and three girls.

He moved to Verden in 1927. He married Mrs. Ada Reed on February 23, 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Ada, of the home, two sons, C. E. Harmon of Mansfield, Arkansas and A. D. Harmon of Compton, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Kardaras of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. J. W. Hullett of Verden.
