Following an illness of several months, Mrs. Margaret Littlejohn Bailey, 87, mother of Councilman James L. Bailey and nearly all her life a resident of Sharon, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Williams, 428 North State Line road, at noon, today. Her death removes from this section a member of one of the pioneer families of the city. Born in Carluke, Scotland on Aug 5, 1848, she came here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs., John Littlejohn when only nine years of age. She watched Sharon grow from a village to a city. She was married to John Bailey who died in March 1926. Mrs. Bailey was a member of First Baptist church, being one of the oldest in that congregation. She had spent a greater part of her life in the Bailey homestead where she died. Five children, Councilman James L. Bailey, Thomas Alfred Bailey, John Bailey, Mrs. Floyd Williams and Mrs. Arthur Darby, all of Sharon survive. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. {herald}

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Bailey, North State Line road, were held Saturday at the home with Rev. Robert Stark, pastor of First Baptist Church in charge. Pallbearers were: Arthur Bailey, Reinhart Cook, Russell Bailey, Nelson Bailey, Edward Darby and Paul Bell. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. {herald}
