Mrs. Etha May Charles of 2565 Winner Rd., Hickory Twp., widow of Daniel Charles, died at 9 p.m. Friday in Grove City Hospital after a long illness. She was 78. Mrs. Charles was born in Fenton, Ill., Oct. 20, 1895, to Isaac and Rose Feldman Wohrley. She had been employed in central supply of Sharon General Hospital 20 years, retiring in 1968 and was a member of the hospital's Retirees Club. She attended First Baptist Church, Sharon. Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. William (Irene) Wiesen. Mrs. Nelson E. (Nina) Bailey and Mrs. Cecil (Cecelia) Hinkle. all of Hickory Twp.; Two sons, Howard L. of Hubbard, and Robert E. of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Flora) Shepherd of Prophetstown, Ill; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband died Jan. 26, 1948.
