Final Rites Held For Mrs. L. L. Greenwalt Saturday
Resident of Hastings for More than 60 Years
hastings and surrounding vicinity were saddened Wednesday to learn that Mrs. L. L. Greenwalt had passed away. mrs. greenwalt was loved by everyone that knew her and although she had been in failing health for the past several years, her kindly ways and gentle spirit brought her many friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Methodist church at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. Clare H. Roos was In charge. Music was furnished by Clarence Boos, Ira Turner, Mrs. Vic Cromwall and Mrs. Fred Lookablll. They sang "Face to Face" and "Rock of Ages." They were accompanied by Mrs. Benjamin Haroff. Mrs. Steve Haines and Mrs. Roy Quimby had charge of the flowers. Charles Hall, Charles Carlson, Mervin Turner, Rea Shepard, Steve Haines and .Victor Cromwell served as pall bearers.

The following obituary was read:
"Lula May Wood, daughter of D. J. M. and Mrs. E. M. Wood, was born Sept. 8, 1864 near Paola, Kan. Her parents moved to Ohio and a few years later came to Ackworth. In 1884 they moved to Hastings.
"On Nov. 25, 1886 she was united in marriage with L. L. Greenwalt of Hastings in the Methodist church at Oakland, by Rev. C. W. Boldgett, district superintendent. They began their new home in Hastings where two sons and a daughter were born.
In September, 1907, they moved to Indianola where the children, attended school.' They returned to Hastings in 1913 and in May, 1914 she began her work as an assistant to her husband who was postmaster, remaining 20 years before retiring,
"On Nov. 26., 1936 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the Hastings church. They were spared to live together over 60 years. Besides her husband, she lis survived by her three children, Col. G, C. Greenwalt, Ft, Knox, Ky., Mrs. Cora Gaylord, Omaha and A. L. Greenwait, Portland, Ore,; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She departed this life May 7 at the age of 82 years, seven months and 29 days. Mrs. Greenwalt was a faithful member of the Hastings Methodist church."
Relatives attending from a distance included Col. and Mrs. G. C. Greenwalt, Ft. Knox, Ky.; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Gaylord, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Greenwalt, Portland, Ore.; Melvin C. Gaylord, Paso Robles, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gaylord, Omaha; Mrs. Doris Brinlee and two children, Omaha; Dorothy, Eleanor June and Wilbur jr. Gaylord, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. John Parsons, Indianola; one brother, Rolla B. Wood, Stillwater, Okla.
