Alex Bransford, 86, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, went home to be with his Heavenly Father March 11, 2011. Memorial services will be 3:15 p.m. Friday, March 18, at South Colleyvine Ranch, in Grapevine.
Alex was born June 12, 1924, in Dallas and graduated Highland Park High School in 1941, and SMU in 1949.He was a World War II and Korean War vet, serving in Africa and Southern France and received two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal.Alex was an elder at Central Presbyterian in Waco, and taught the Berean's Class. He worked at National Lloyd's Insurance until he was 83, when he retired to Colleyville.
He is survived by his four children, Fred Bransford, Joanna Hecker of Albuquerque, N.M., Dorothy Schlichting of Atlanta, Ga., and Pauline Meier of Colleyville; as well as nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter
