William Pope Sandusky was named after his mother Mary Funderburk's half brother who was William Pope.

It appears William dictated his will from his deathbed.

In the name of God amen,

I William P. Sandusky of the County of Wayne and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and disposing memory and feeble assured that I must soon resign my body to the tomb and my soul to God who gave it.  And being desirous to dispose of such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bless me with do make and publish this my last will and testament  being the only one at any time by me made.  In manner and form as follows.

1st  I give and bequeath to my sister Evaline Sandusky my house that I now own and desire her to take the same into her possession as her own immediately after my death.  2nd the residence of my estate cash, cash notes after paying my first debts and funeral expenses I will and bequeath to my dear mother Mary Sandusky to her own and to be used and disposed of by her as her own.

3rd  I hereby appoint Jacob Sandusky my executor to carry the provisions of the my last will and testament into effect.  There is to be no vacation or inventory of any kind as to my estate.  In testimony thereof I have here unto affixed my signature in the presence of the subscribing to this will.  This 13th day of November 1865

State of Ky Wayne Co Court December Term 1865

I  J. L. Sallee Clk of the County Court for the county of said do certify that the forgoing instrument of writing was this day produced in open court and proved to be the last will and testament of William P. Sandusky dec'd by the oaths of J. B. Sandusky and Jeremiah B. Sandusky the subscribing witnesses there to and the same with this certificate is admitted to record given under my hand the date and court above written.
