The Adams Sentinel August 19, 1850

We have to announce, that Mr. Peter Hake, Jr., student of Pennsylvania College, who was so severely burnt by the explosion of camphine about ten days ago, was relieved from his sufferings, by death, on Saturday morning last. His age 18 years, 4 months and 7 days. This adds another victim to the use of that dangerous fluid. So many serious accidents have arisen from it, that we think it should be banished from common use.
