Alfred G. Plassman, age 93 of Napoleon, passed away early Friday morning, March 5, 2010 at the Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
He was born July 10, 1916 in Napoleon Township, Henry County to the late Henry F. and Clara (Wachtman) Plassman. On April 16, 1950 he married Luella E. (Panning) Plassman.
Alfred was a retired Henry County Farmer. He owned and operated a farm drainage tile business for 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township, where he served as Trustee, Deacon, and Eldor. He was a W.W. II Veteran serving with the Army Corp of Engineers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Luella Plassman of Napoleon; two sons Robert (Nancy) Plassman of Defiance, Ohio and Thomas (Joy) Plassman of Columbus, Ohio; a sister Dorothy Aschemeier of Napoleon; 5 grandchildren.
Alfred was preceded in death by a sister Norma Plassman.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, (March 9, 2010) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township with the Rev. Franklin Hays, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the joint veteran posts of Napoleon.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6–8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Tuesday for one hour prior to services at the church. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Foundation or The Napoleon Lutheran Home.
