Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Weerts, Davenport. Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, with military rites by Davenport American Legion Post 26. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born June 21, 1926. He married Jeanne Mathes in 1953. She died in 1972.
Surviving are sons, Dale Akins, Bettendorf, and Gary Schooley, Delhi, Iowa; five grandchildren; sister, Margaret Thomason, West Liberty, Iowa; and special friend, Mary Johnson, Davenport.
