Myrtle Boozer Martin NEWBERRY - Myrtle Boozer Martin, 90, widow of John W. Martin, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in White Oak Manor. Born January 29, 1924, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Gaston F. and Sallie Davenport Boozer. She was a graduate of Newberry College and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a member of Circle #1. Mrs. Martin is survived by a son, Sammy (Nell) Martin of Newberry; a daughter, Rachel (Obie) Smith of Edgefield; grandchildren, Sherry Williams, Carol Lucas, John F. Martin, Chris Smith and Mary Graham; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Martin, a sister, Katherine Floyd, and brothers, David Boozer and Strong Broozer. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hugh Bickley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
