Sam Fletcher Ledbetter, Jr., age 83, of Linden, AL. died April 19, 2011 at DCH Regional Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1927 in Reeltown, AL. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a retired administrator with the Farmers Home Administration U. S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church. He is survived by wife, Joyce Middleton Ledbetter of Linden, AL; daughter, Gail (Jack) Kapphan of Tuscaloosa, AL; son, Charles (Susan) Ledbetter of Meridian, MS; son, Mitch (Gloria) Emmons of Auburn, AL; daughter, Jo Waite of Auburn, AL; son, Pat (Rebecca) Emmons of Ephrata, WA; grandchildren, Lewis Cole, Sara Elizabeth Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Bess Wilder, William Ledbetter, Melissa Ledbetter, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Norma Ledbetter; daughter, Janet Barrett; granddaughter, Laura Ledbetter. Visitation will be held at Linden United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time. Burial will be at the Linden Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Lewis Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Rob Wilder, William Ledbetter, Drew Lancaster. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Linden United Methodist Church.
