Born in Spokane, Washington, but his family settled in Puyallup, Washington, and he graduated from Puyallup High School in 1932 and the University of Washington in 1939. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps on April 1, 1942, and served in the South Pacific during World War II and afterwards as a reserve officer. He married Alberta J. Stimac from Paw Paw, MI, on April 12, 1947, Pasadena, Los Angeles, CA. Their love was the kind that lasted forever. They made their home in Southern California, raising two daughters in Arcadia, CA. He will always be remembered for his sense of right and wrong, his strength of character, his intelligence and his sense of humor. He always had a good word to say about everyone and was kind to all.
