JW DeWeese has received the news of the death of his father, Joseph R DeWeese, last Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs LG Gates at Carthage, Ohio. Mr DeWeese was formerly a resident of Canon City and for many years sold fruit trees in this county and elsewhere throughout the state. He went to Nebraska about a year ago, and his health failing, he went to the home of his daughter. His son, JW of Salida, was summoned to his bedside but was unable to remain there and returned home after several weeks. The father got no better and his death occurred last Sunday night. He was quite well known and highly respected in Chaffee County."
