Prof. J.H. Redman died at his home near Hatley, this county, Sunday, November 21st. Mr. Redman was stricken with paralysis while attending a box supper at the Hatley school house the night previous and was conveyed to his home, but the stroke proved fatal.
In the death of Mr. Redman the county sustained the loss of one of its best citizens and the cause of education one of its best friends. As an educator he stood high in his profession and contributed much valuable service to the children of Monroe County, principally in his home neighborhood. He was a true and loyal friend to those whom he believed worthy of his friendship, and to this class, who number many of the best people of the county, his loss will be keenly felt.
He is survived by a wife and several children who are bereft indeed of a good husband and father.
His remains were interred in Green Brier Cemetery, Monday.
