Jean Elizabeth Carrick Marsh died Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She was born January 7, 1923 in Waco. Her parents were Duncan and May L. Barclay Carrick. She and Riley William Marsh married June 1, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, by her brother, John A. ( Jack) Carrick, her sister, Helen Ruth Lueders, her granddaughter, Erin Carrick Marsh, and her nephew James Michael (Mike) Lueders. She is survived by her son Riley Bruce Marsh, who is married to Janet Hughes Marsh, her son David Barry Marsh, her granddaughter Leslie Marsh Perz, who is married to Stephen Perz, and her great-grandchildren Meghan Jane Mead, Ian Carrick Mead, Samuel Riley (Sam) Perz and Madelyn Claire (Maddie) Perz. Other survivors include niece Nancy Marsh Sampson, who is married to J. Fred Sampson, nephew J. Eric Lueders, who is married to Jill (Thad) Logan, nephew John H. Carrick, Marion Sullivan, who is the widow of Mike Lueders, great-nephew Scott Marsh Sampson, and great-niece Helen Elizabeth Lueders. Her family is grateful to Vicky Solorio, Becky Dennis, Tursa Eason and Maria Vargas for their kindness and care during her illness. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, on Thursday, April 21. The funeral service will be held at White Oak Baptist Church, 3615 Mangum Road on Friday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston.
