Services for Marvin Simpson "Tommy Washam, 82, Miller, were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 5, 1999, in Morris-Leiman-Mosher Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Hufft officiating. Burial was in Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery, south of Miller.

Mr. Washam died at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Miller. He was a lifelong resident of the Miller area. He was a member of Highland Free Methdodist Church, Miller. He was a retired stock hauler.

He married Hildred Marie Woody on Dec. 11, 1937, in Miller. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Jerrald Lee Washam of California; two daughters, Beauanna Jones of Miller and Norma West of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Max Washam of Kansas City: seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
