Hildred Marie Washam, 85, passed away at 955am Friday April 28, 2006, in the Mt. Vernon Place Care, Mt. Vernon.

She was born Aug 16, 1920, in Lawrence County to Fred and Laura Mae (Clarkson) Woody. She was the owner of Pokey-Dot Cafe, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She married Marvin Washam Dec 11, 1937, in Miller. He preceded her in death July 1, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vonda Washam; one sister, Dorothy Spellman; three brothers, Cecil, Frances and William Woody; and one son-in-law, Gary Jones.

Survivors include two daughters, Beauanna Jones Bolton and Norma West, both of Mt. Vernon; one son, Jerrald Lee Washam, Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Monday, May 1, in the Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Miller, with the Rev. Jay Hill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher funeral Home, Miller.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetic Association, in care of the funeral home.
