BOYKINS—Leonard Percival Clary Jr., 81, died Oct. 24, 2008.
He was born in Brodnax, the only child of Leonard Percival and Dorothy Vincent Clary, and was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Jacquelyn Gray "GiGi" Clary.
Mr. Clary was a former owner of White Way Foods and co-owner with his wife of GiGi's Peanuts.
He was a member of Boykins Lion's Club, founder and member of Boykins Coffee Club, an avid sports fan and avid fisherman.
Survivors include his daughter Barbara C. Babb and friend, Mark Allen; grandson, Christopher Clary Babb and wife Melanie, all of Virginia Beach; two great-grandchildren, Kala Nicole Babb and Aaron Christopher Babb; two sisters-in-law, Bettie Allen of Virginia Beach and Merlen Lassiter of Suffolk; one brother-in-law, Hugh Gray of Virginia Beach; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boykins United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
