Ludwig operated the home farm in Gorman Township at the death of his father. He and Georgianna later moved into Perham where he worked for the County Highway Dept. They did not have any children.
Ludwig passed away 13 Jan 1972 in Perham, Otter Tail County, Minnesota at the age of 76 years. He was laid to rest in the Bauck Family Cemetery in Perham, Otter Tail County, Minnesota
