Iantha LaPoint Paquin passed away March 9, 2011, at her home in Lake Havasu City, with her daughter by her side. She was born on April 30, 1923, in Chateaugay, N.Y., to Philip and Joanna Doval.
Iantha married Raymond LaPoint in 1942. He was killed in action in World War II in December 1944. She moved moved to Lake Havasu City with her daughter from Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1998. Iantha was most proud of the home she and her daughter had built in Lake Havasu because she drew up the plans of all the things they wanted in their home. She especially loved to draw, do endless research on genealogy as well as write poems and short stories, many of which were published. She will be deeply missed.
Iantha is survived by her daughter, Luona Miller, of Lake Havasu City; long time friend and companion, Joseph Paquin, of Lake Havasu City; beloved pets, Abby and Jetson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond LaPoint; parents; brothers, Robert, Claude, Stanley and Lawreston; and a sister, Martha.
No service is planned. Donations can be made in Iantha's name to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S. Lake Havasu Ave., LHC, AZ. 86403. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
