SPARTANBURG, SC-- Evelyn Tweed Gwinn, 98, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at White Oak Manor. Born October 11, 1912, in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Connor and Maude Fox Tweed and wife of the late Samuel Clifton Gwinn.

Mrs. Gwinn was a member of Powell Presbyterian Church and a resident of the Powell Mill community for 80 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara A. Drennan of Drayton; her son, Michael Gwinn and his wife Fran of Inman; a daughter-in-law, Sue Gwinn of Spartanburg; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ray H. Gwinn; and a daughter, Debra J. Greene. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pauline, SC. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
