Anna Mae Murphy, 92, of South Third Street, died Tuesday [June 11, 1996] at Jewish Hospital. She was the former Anna Mae Delahanty, a retired cashier for Blue Boar Cafeterias and Rebecca Ruth Candies and a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors: a nephew, Paul D. Curry; a great niece, Linda Delahanty Schrader, both of whom cared for her; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 338 N. 25th St. Burial: Calvary. Visitation: Ratterman’s Portland, 2114 W. Market St., 3-9 p.m. Friday. Memorial gifts: Mass of the Air.
Anna Mae Delahanty Murphy, 92, originally from Portland, and a member of St. Cecilia Church, died on 06-12-1996, at St's Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. She was predeceased by Her mother, Kate Stoll Delahanty and father Edward John Delahanty, a sister, Catherine Curry, and brothers, Carl and Richard Delahanty, and her only child, a son, George J. Murphy, III, a retired Colonel of the United States Air Force, and Executive Vice-President of the Space Boosters, in Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by three grandchildren; Kathleen Murphy Lamb, Marilyn Murphy Thrailkill, and Donnie Murphy; and a niece Linda Delahanty Schrader and nephew Danny Curry who took care of her. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, a two great-grandsons, and a great granddaughter. She owned her own variety store, was a long time employee as a cashier of The Blue Boar Restaurant on Walnut Street in Downtown, Louisville, and then worked and retired at seventy-five from Rebecca-Ruth Candies, 4th Street. She was born on October 04, 1903. She was a Roman Catholic and a member of Most Blessed Sacrement at the time of her death. She was laid out at J.B. Ratterman's, 2114 West Market Street, 3-9 Sunday, with burial Monday at Calvary Cemetery. The Funeral will be held at St. Cecilia Church as per her wishes, at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning.
