At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Navy. During his career, he became the first Navy Parachute Rigger to become a Master Chief. Bill met his wife, Audrey Dowling, while stationed in Lakehurst, N.J. They married in 1945. Bill was active in the North Park Lions Club. He served as president of the chapter and was twice named Lion of the Year. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Audrey. His legacy includes six children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
