Ruth E. Anderson was born on November 24, 1915, in DeWitt, Iowa, a daughter of James W. and Mary E. (Myers) Anderson. She was a graduate of Davenport High School. She was united in marriage to Lester Dettman. Ruth later married Frank Wickman. He preceded her in death in January of 1971. She then was united to Cloyd "Lefty" Heskett, who also preceded her in death.
Ruth was primarily a homemaker during her lifetime, taking an active role in raising her children. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and tending to her flowers. Ruth especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family, occasionally sharing a few "beverages" with them.
Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Survivors include her children, Teresa Durant, Davenport, Sharon Morris, Green Valley, Ariz., Jack (Linda) Dettman, Cottonwood, Ariz., Mary (Gus) Dostal, Rice Lake, Wis., and Jim (Leesa) Wickman, Davenport; numerous grandchildren as well as great and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husbands, Frank and Lefty, she was preceded in death by her sons, Dennis and Ed Wickman, sons-in-law, Bill Durant and Bud Morris, and a sister, Margaret Haney.
