Race Car Driver. He began his driving career in the figure 8 division at Flat Rock, Michigan in 1965. He won the Michigan state figure 8 championship in 1967. In 1968 he won both the ARCA award and the MARC Times Rookie of the Year award. In 1977 he left model racing for USAC sprints and midgets and had three midget wins in AMRA and ORA races. After much success at a variety of race tracks, he made his NASCAR debut in 1979, where he finished fifth place in his first NASCAR race at the champion spark plug 400 at Michigan international speedway. He retired a few years later, shortly after a serious accident in Daytona, Florida. He had won over 200 features in figure 8s, midgets, late models, ARCA new cars, and NASCAR modifieds. He was inducted into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2002.
