LaMONICA -- Wilma, 80, of Tulsa, was welcomed into the arms of Christ on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1923, in Seneca, MO and married Sergeant Anthony J. LaMonica in August, 1944, while stationed in Tulsa, OK. After WWII, the LaMonica's returned to Boston and lived there and Wilma gave birth to her first born son, Richard Anthony LaMonica, now of Catoosa. A few years later, Wilma gave birth to her first and only girl, Linda Joyce "Lindy" Roberts, now of Tulsa. They then sold all their possessions in 1952 and moved back to Tulsa, which Tony referred to as "God's Country." In Tulsa, Wilma and Tony welcomed into their home their last son, Michael Ray LaMonica of Midland, TX. They eventually moved to Catoosa, OK, where Tony retired after many years of employment with the State of Oklahoma. Wilma was a quiet, witty, good-natured woman who had a huge heart and love of life. She accepted all that life gave her with quiet perseverance and trust in God. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Richard and Linda LaMonica of Catoosa; a daughter and son-in-law, "Lindy" and Don Roberts of Tulsa and Michael and Madolyn LaMonica of Midland, TX; 3 sisters, Martha Horton of Catoosa, Mary Poucher of Winter Haven, FL, Phyllis Baker of Chelsea; and a brother, Lawrence Baker of Chelsea; grandchildren, Nicole Hassett, Steven LaMonica, Keely Roberts, Jonah LaMonica, NaKeisha LaMonica; and 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brenna, Tristan and Brooklyn Hassett; and numerous nephews and nieces.
