He was survied by his Wife Virginia Boyd Gardner, Cadiz, KY, Sons & Daughter In Law James Gant & Beverly Gardner, Cadiz, KY, Stacy Todd Gardner, Charlotte, NC, Grandchlidren James Matthew Gardner, Cadiz, KY and Christian Cole Gardner, Cadiz, KY, Niece Brenda Southwick, Cadiz, KY, Nephew Steve Oakley, Cadiz, KY, Two Sisters Mary Brandt, Hopkinsville, KY and Sue Hayes, Hoffman Estate, IL.

He was preceded in death by his Parents James Monroe & Allie Atwood Gardner, Sr., Brother William Gardner, Sister Lucille Thomas.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2011.
Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 with the Reverend Kevin Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY, with full military
