CHURCH HILL - Maude Grace Fields Alley, 83, 4556 Stanley Valley Road, went home to be with the Lord Monday afternoon (March 7, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and a faithful member of Okolona United Methodist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be remembered for her quick-witted sense of humor and laughter. Maude Alley will never be forgotten because she touched the lives and hearts of many.
She was preceded in death by her children, Mickey Alley Fraysier, Penny Sue Alley and Robert Alley; sisters, Mary Chapman and Thelma "Pet" Williams; brothers, Kermit Fields and Alfred Fields.
Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Oneal Alley; sons, Freddie Alley and wife Barbara and "Bo" Alley and wife Carylon, all of Church Hill; son-in-law, J.C. Fraysier, Church Hill; grandchildren, Chris Alley, Angie Alley Leonard, Leah Alley, Scottie Alley, Tammy Fraysier Cassidy and T.J. Fraysier; great-grandchildren, Tyler Alley, Ashley Alley, Carissa Alley and Kierra Alley; sisters, Ruby Walters, Surgoinsville, and Lou Roller, Church Hill; along with several nieces and nephews and also her loving dog "Toby."
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence, 4556 Stanley Valley Road, or at the grandson's residence, T.J. Fraysier, 4568 Stanley Valley Road, Church Hill.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Charlie Eberhart and the Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral service in Bethel Church Cemetery, Surgoinsville, with Chris Alley, Scottie Alley, T.J. Fraysier, Steve Leonard, Jon Cassidy and J.C. Fraysier serving as pallbearers.
Lee Roy Davis, Jim Pat Davis, Bobby Parsons, Paul Williams, Randall Williams and Shorty Alley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Okolona United Methodist Church building fund, c/o Kathleen Ford, 813 Greene St., Church Hill, Tenn. 37642.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill is in charge of arrangements.
