A rosary will be recited by Mrs. Ida Trahan on Wednesday evening at 6 PM. Mr. Dupuis will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery where he will be honored with full military rites.

Delton Joseph was born in Rayne, La to the late Calise and Delta Dupont Dupuis on October 10, 1930. When he was a teenager, Delton was a jockey at the local horse races and enjoyed playing men's league baseball. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Dupuis was the owner of D & S Auto Parts in Jennings for 16 years. He held many titles in his community like being a member of the VFW, past president of the Jennings Jaycee's, past member and officer of the Jennings Lyons Club, and a member of the First Derrick Campers Club. However he was most proud of the titles he held as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and passing on many years of knowledge and down home family values. He also enjoyed shrimping, family gatherings, and he was an avid gardener. Delton was very dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his beloved children, Michael Dupuis and wife Judy of Jennings and Sharon Dupuis Hensley and fiancé David Foote, Jr. of Lafayette; 4 brothers, Alfred Lee Dupuis of Scott, Russell James and Leland John Dupuis all of Jennings and Luther Ray Dupuis of Lake Charles; 2 sisters, Juanita Oubre of New Iberia and Darlene Ann Dupuis Matlick of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren, Mitchell (Amanda) Hensley of Atlanta, GA, Hollie Hensley of Jennings, Kelli Hensley of Jennings, and Dana Romero (Todd) Gott of Jennings; and 6 great grandchildren, Hali Penlicost, Jayden LeGros, Kylon Luckelt, Kassidy Kate and Keagan Wayne Richard all of Jennings, and Emaline Hensley of Atlanta, GA.

Delton now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Calise and Delta; wife, Margie Nell LeBlanc Dupuis; and one brother, Clifton Paul Dupuis.

Carrying Delton to his eternal resting place will be David Foote, Jr, Ralph Hensley, Keegan Richard, Leland Dupuis, Luther Dupuis, and Jared Richard. Honorary pallbearers will include Albert Oubre, Mitchell Hensley, Jeff LeGros, and Jonathan Mouton.
