Funeral rites for Carl Swisher, 33, formerly of Flora, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Old Older Brethren church. Rev, Keith Reinhart of South Bend in charge. Burial was made in Maple Lawn cemetery. Swisher, who was employed by the Calumet Paving Company, was killed Friday when the road grader he was operating near Franklin, Ind. over turned, fracturing his neck and spine. He was born June 29, 1908, in Carroll county, the son of George and Clara Swisher, Surviving are the widow, the former Opal McDowell; a daughter, Carolyn Sue, 8; the mother, of East Columbia street, Flora: three sisters, Mary, Leiters Ford; Mrs. Lloyd Balsbaugh, Ohio and Mrs. Lee Purdue Wis. and a brother Howard, Texarkana, Texas.
