Alfred Russell Truslow was the son of Frederick Morrison Truslow and Margaret Elizabeth Livesay Truslow. His great-great grandparents were Thomas Truslow and Mary Ann Lee Truslow from London, England. He married Geneva Eufaula Henderson in Atlanta, GA. on September 25, 1901. They had the following children; Virginia Louise, Alfred Russell Jr., Sarah Elizabeth and Marion Archer Truslow. After his wife, Geneva died in June of 1930 he married a second time to a widow, Mrs. Johnie Hamilton. She was born Nov. 27, 1882 as Johnie King. Her first husband was Augustus Gamewell Hamilton, born Jan. 7, 1875 and died Oct. 19, 1926. It is believed that Alfred Russell Truslow and his second wife, Johnie King Truslow never had any children. The 1940 census only lists Alfred and Johnie Truslow without children. Johnie was previously married to Augustus Gamewell Hamilton.
