Born to parents Elijah Barton Runyon and Sarah Hartman she married Peter Simon Shultz on December 9, 1871 and had 8 children : Carrie Adella, Sarah Elizabeth, Virginia, Grace Anna, Ruth Edna, Florence Janet, Harold S. and Walter Charles. Obit from the Morning Press: Mrs. Mary P Shultz, aged 68 years, died yesterday at nine o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Holden, at Jerseytown. Mrs. Shultz had been a sufferer from heart failure for more than a year. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Lobach, Cherokee, Ia.; Mrs. E.W. Foust, Berwick; Walter Shultz, Sheep's School house; Mrs. Theodore Rush, Buffalo, NY; Mrs. Walter Girton, Pottsgrove; Mrs. Clarence Lockoff, Jerseytown. One brother, Jack Runyon, of Watsontown, and a sister, Mrs. Jackson Balliet, of Turbotville also survive. Mr. Shultz died about three years ago. Mrs. Shultz was a member of the Presbyterian church of Columbia. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
