Edward Allison had gone up to Oregon from California to help care for his son Charles' family while they had Typhoid Fever, Mattie lost her life and Charles eventually recovered. About the time Edward was to leave to go home to California, he too came down with Typhoid & died there in Wasco. co.

"His remains lie buried near his daughter-in-law, wife of his son Charles at the Dallas, Oregon"
[quote from: Obit. information sent to North San Juan Times, March 16th - 1888 via a letter from his daughter Lucy, Mrs. William Vollmer's, of Trinity Center, dated March 3rd, 1888.]
