Truman Deike, 89, of Winters Died Friday April 15, 2011. She was born October 26, 1921 in Itasca, Texas. She moved with her family to the Winters area at the age of 3. She graduated from Norton High School. She married Fritz Deike April 25, 1939 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters. She worked as a dairy farmer and ranched with her husband until his death in 1972. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by 1 daughter and 2 sons: Jerrye Carey of Potosi, Edwin Deike and wife Sharon of Winters and Michael Deike and wife Sue of Hamby. 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. 3 sisters-in-law: Betty Paschal of Shep, Matilda Elkins of New Mexico and Josephine Mittelstead of California. She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Bobby and F.O.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday April 17, 2011 at Winters Funeral Home and services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday April 18, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Alsen Wenzel officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.
