Alvin L. Heindel
YORK - Alvin L. Heindel, 76, of York, died Tuesday evening at his home. He was the husband of the late Betty Mae (Stump) Heindel.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Robert F. Koller Funeral Home Inc., 2000 W. Market St., York. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Heindel was born Aug. 30, 1919, in West York. He was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Buchmeyer) Heindel and the step-son of the late Elmer Rudisill.
He was a carpenter for the former E.T. Schimmel Co. and the former Go-Len Co., from which he retired in 1985. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Mr. Heindel is survived by a son, Michael A. Heindel of York; two grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Heindel of York; and a step-brother, Glen Rudisill of York.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Dr. E. Gordon Ross.
