The only improvements on his land were a small log house and a few acres cleared. He has improved the farm and erected good buildings, and now has one of the most valuable farms in the township. He owns sixty acres of choice land which is well adapted to raising small grains. Mr. Charlton has been twice married.
His first wife was Nancy Teeters. His present wife was Mrs. Elizabeth (Teeters) Jennings. They have one daughter--Martha, wife of William Greenamyer, of Salem Township.
