Ruby Evans MT. PLEASANT - Ruby Evans, age 95, died Friday, July 2, 2009 at a local nursing facility. She was born in Reevesville SC on July 10, 1913 to the late G.H. Blewer and Wilhelmenia Hartzog Blewer. She was a former employee of Charleston Manufacturing Company, American Tobacco Company, and the Charleston Navy Shipyard. She is survived by her son, Robert Theodor Evans of Charleston SC; and her sister, Emma Byars of Columbia SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mack Evans, four sisters, and one brother. Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29406. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29406.
