Calais – Edna Flora (Bryant) Demmons Greenlaw, 97, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at a Calais hospital. Edna was born in East Machias, July 29, 1908, daughter of the late Henry and Melvina (Huntley) Bryant. She was a member of the former Reform Baptist Church in Calais and volunteered at Barnard's Nursing Home for over 26 years.

Edna was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas Demmons and Moses Greenlaw; two sons, Warren and William Eugene Demmons; a daughter, Joyce Greenlaw; and eight brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Ahlquist and husband Earle of Scarborough; her son, Lester Greenlaw and wife Liz of Prairie DuChien, WI; a step-daughter, Annie Nodine of Bath; a daughter-in-law, Winnie Demmons of Calais; a brother, Alfred Bryant and wife Elsie of East Machias; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marguerite Graham of Baileyville.
