William Wright, born in England. Married Ann Bardsley in Manchester, England.
He had been a hatter in England. He was not the eldest in his family, and therefore could not inherit the property. He came to America hoping to better his financial condition.
Emigrated to the US in 1817, and came to Dayton, Ohio area.
In 1824, the family came to Franklin County, Indiana, three miles east of Brookville.
At the time of his death, William Wright owned over 500 acres.
Died on the old home farm in Brookville township, Franklin County.
