Mrs. Brandt was co-owner along with her husband of the Sweet Cup Coffee Shoppe in Huntington from 1972 to 1980 and had worked for Schacht’s Rubber Company.
She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Miller’s Merry Manor and Pathfinder Pre-school, where she was known as “Grandma.” She was the recipient of the LaMont Award in 1988 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington.
She was born in Bluffton May 24, 1915 to Hugh T. and Marie E. Derr Marshall. She attended the Bluffton High School but had lived in Huntington most of her life. Her marriage at Garrett on June 25, 1938 was to Carl O. Brandt, who died November 22, 1980.
Surviving are one son, David of Huntington; one daughter, Mrs. Warren (Sandy) Eddy of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister are deceased.
Services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary in Huntington with Rev. Ronald E. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery at Bluffton. Visitation hours at the mortuary are today from 2 to 8 pm.
