Frank Slezak, 79, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, August 22, 1999 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Slezak owned and operated Slezaks Radiator Shop in Poughkeepsie until retirement. He was a member of the American Legion #1302, Polish American Club, and an active bowler and golfer. Also, he was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Pleasant Valley. Mr. Slezak served in the United States Army during World War II. Born in Poughkeepsie on Nov. 8, 1919, he was a son of Ignatius and Mary Spilo Slezak. He married Irma Maggiacomo in 1944 in Millbrook. Mrs. Slezak died Nov. 14, 1997. Survivors include a son, Lynn Slezak, Pleasant Valley; a daughter, Elaine Hines, Detroit, Mich.; three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be private. Burial at St. Peters Cemetery will be private. Arrangements by Allen Funeral Home, Main St., Pleasant Valley.
