Mrs. Pepiton's memorial service will be conducted at Park Forest Baptist church in Baton Rouge, La. on Tuesday April 19, 2011, with the Rev. Lawrence Robertson officiating. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Garden in Baker, Louisiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
The daughter of the late Hebert A. Farris and Lillie Thompson Farris Marcus, nell was born July 17, 1928, in DeRidder, Louisiana. On September 8, 1945, she married Eugene Lawrence Pepiton. Mrs. Pepiton and her husband were charter members of the Park Forest Baptist where she served on numerous committees since the church's founding in August of 1967. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. In addition, Mrs. Pepiton worked for the telephone company in Baton Rouge for over 12 years service. Nell was a marvelous baker and home cook and will remembered for her candies. Even as late as this past Christmas, she managed to bless her friends and family with homemade goodies. Multiple "care packages" were sent to her grandsons and their families in Alaska and China. Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lawrence Pepiton on May 29, 1993, and infant son, Jesse Lawrence Pepiton, a brother E.Z. Farris Marcus, a sister Barbie Ann Ash, a brother Robert (Bobby) Marcus, a sister, Betty Jo Schwirian, a very beloved friend, Kelly Santangelo, and her grandparents.
Survivors include her son, Russel E. (Gene) Pepiton and wife Sharon, of Wichita Falls: grandson Cory Andrew Pepiton and wife Lori, and their four children, Aubry, Heather, Asher and Ella of Anchorage, Alaska; grandson Charles Marc Pepiton and wife, Rebekah, of Guiyang, Guizhou, China; her sisters Alta Juanita (Nita) Terrio of Prairieville, Louisiana, Zoe Lee Slaydon of Merryville, Louisiana, and Brenda Hill and husband Mike of Many, Louisiana; brother Billy Joe Marcus and wife Wanda, of Prairieville, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Carol Marcus of Gonzales, Louisiana and brother-in-law, Bill Schwirian of California.
