Former Portersville resident Lucille M. Hunt, 87, of Avalon Nursing Center, died the night of Oct. 26, 2002, at the center. Born Nov. 4, 1914 in Plain Grove, she was a daughter of the late Melvil and Ada L. McGee Eppinger. She was married to R. Harold Hunt. He died in 1989. Mrs. Hunt had been a clerk at Troutman's Department Store. A graduate of Plain Grove High School, she enjoyed raveling. She was a member of the Harlansburg Garden Club, Wimodausis and Eastern Star 105. Mrs. Hunt belonged to First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Jane McAnany of Castlewood, three sons, Richard W. Hunt Sr., Donald L. Hunt and Charles L. Hunt, all of New Castle; one brother, Charles Eppinger of Mercer; on sister, Hazel Fitzgerald of Plain Grove; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Glen Hunt and Larry Hunt, three sisters, Edna Eppinger, Evelyn Hunt and Bertha Walters, and one brother, Kenneth Eppinger. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church on Maitland Lane. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Yergan of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Plain Grove Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Suite 500, The Landmarks Building, One Station Square, Pittsburgh 15219, of the American Cancer Society, Lawrence Unit, Box 494, New Castle, 16103.
