Mr. Billy Roy Skinner, 79, of Campobello, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Mr. Skinner was born in Campobello on January 19, 1932, the son of the late Lee Roy and Beedie Mae Strange Skinner. He was the husband of Lorene Sawyer Skinner.
He had retired from Spartanburg County School District One, was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and had served in the South Carolina National Guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Preston and Geraldine Skinner of Campobello, Chris and Janet Skinner of Inman; grandchildren, Jeremy and Heather Condrey of Campobello, Matthew and Madison Skinner of Boiling Springs; great-grandchild, Samantha Condrey of Campobello; and a special friend, Corruco Lopez. He is also survived by a brother, Hubert Skinner of Inman. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2011, with Rev. Reggie Parker and Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday following the service at Holston Creek Baptist Church, Family Life Center.
