US Congressman. Born in New Hope, Ohio, he studied medicine with his father, graduated from the Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery, from the Ohio Medical College and engaged in the practice of medicine at Georgetown, Ohio. He was the Ohio Brown County auditor in 1880. In 1885, he was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-ninth Congress, serving until 1887. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of medicine until his death at age in Georgetown, Ohio.
