Gene Autry — Funeral services for Roberta Lee Bennett Williams, age 69, will be today at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Gene Autry. Pastors Theodore Anderson and Lincoln Stevenson will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

A lifetime resident of Carter County, Mrs. Williams was born in Springer, Okla., August 23, 1941, to Willie and Martha (Taylor) Bennett. She graduated from Springer High School. She professed Christ as Lord and Savior and united with Calvary Baptist Church during her youth and kept the faith until death beckoned her home. Truly devoted at Calvary, she was a member of the choir.

She and Jessie Williams were married in 1962. This union was blessed with eight sons, Derrick, Harold, Darrel, Kyle, Arteger, Cassius, Shane and Remar. Her husband preceded her in death October 28, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Willie D. Bennett and Leroy Bennett; and one sister, Shirley Coleman.

She leaves to forever cherish precious memories eight sons, Derrick and Harold, Oklahoma City, Darrel (Genie), Ratliff City, Kyle (Tina), Shawnee, Arteger, Milo, Cassius (Leah), Shane (Denise), and Remar, all of Ardmore; four brothers, Bishop, Lewis, Robert and Gene Bennett; three sisters, Cleta Stevenson, Early Franklin and Lizzie Brown; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives, friends and the Calvary Church family.

Services are entrusted to the care of Kirk Funeral Home.
